Join Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse in this group piano class for children ages 5 to 7! Piano Pals builds musical understanding through fundamental music theory, music appreciation, and music composition, alongside the practical application for this knowledge: learning to play the piano! During each 10-week session, students expand their foundational music skills, develop correct early piano technique, and receive guidance writing their own developmentally appropriate songs for the piano.
Peer Group Learning Environment
Students in Piano Pals benefit from peer learning and strengthen social connections through our small group (3 student) piano classes for children ages 5-7.
Piano Pals classes are offered as 10, weekly 45-minute sessions. Students can continue their development by advancing through our 6 levels of Piano Pals classes.
Engaging & Developmentally Appropriate
Join pals Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse as they learn the foundations of music theory!
Creative Expression
With the support of a teacher, students create their own songs, applying the skills learned each session.
Comforting Rituals
Each class begins with a “Hello Song” and ends with a “Goodbye Song” that students and teacher sing together.
Rituals can assist children in times of stress, unite and connect people, create memories that last into adulthood, strengthen the bonds of a school family, and build a strong community. - National Association for the Education of Young Children
Caregiver Involvement
Caregivers are invited to join the last 5 minutes of each session to learn what was covered that day and hear samples of student compositions. Caregivers are encouraged to support continued learning at home in between classes and are given a lesson summary sheet and practice chart weekly. *For students ages 6 and under, caregivers are required to remain onsite for the duration of the class or lesson, even if the child is participating in the class or lesson on their own.
Performance Experience
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a recital at the end of each 10-week session.
