Meet the Doctor- Daniel MacAlasdair, MD

Dr. Daniel MacAlasdair has been medical director of VIK Complete Care in Westlake and VIK Complete Care in Lakeway since 2018. Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. MacAlasdair brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to where he had been Chief Operating Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and Medical Director of Emergency Services and Telemedicine at a rural hospital.

Dr. MacAlasdair earned his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Columbia University/ St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. MacAlasdair is an avid runner and enjoys the challenge and the pace that the Texas Hill Country has to offer. He and his wife have similar interests in horticulture and working outdoors. They enjoy growing grapes specifically, and have planted productive vineyards in both New York and Arizona. MacAlasdair’s son is a competitive tennis player, competing in tournaments on many weekends. If they are not attending a tennis tournament, the family enjoys spending spare time at their ranch in New Mexico removing cedar and allowing the native grasses and pinon to recover.

Dr. MacAlasdair would like for area residents to feel comfortable coming in to VIK Complete Care any time of the day or night; whether they have a health issue or simply a question about how their insurance works in the facility.
