Robin Hood Recapture: The Legend, the Myths, and the Facts
School finance can be a complicated business, so we’ll explore the topic of school funding, taxes, and recapture by examining common misperceptions and the facts of how state funding laws affect Texas schools and specifically Eanes ISD.  We’ll also take a look at possible changes under consideration by the Texas Legislature that could impact schools and property taxes.

Christy Rome
Christy Rome has served as the Executive Director of the Texas School Coalition for over 10 years.  During that time, she has represented the interests of students, schools, and communities in school districts subject to recapture. Christy is a proud product of the Texas public school system, and she is a former public school teacher. She has also worked for the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Senate Committee on Education, and as a district administrator with Austin ISD.  Christy has also been an Eanes ISD resident for over 20 years.
